Look What I Found

I was at an auction on Thursday. It was right here on the tundra about 1500 miles north of longhorn country. There in a $2 box was this unused, still with its tags hat. Oh my!

One Week 'til Gypsy Lea's

Our February monthly sale opens one week from today at Gypsy Lea's. I worked Monday and Tuesday helping to set up for the sale. It is going to look spectacular, but we have a long way to go. The new items that have shown up are interesting or cool or hopelessly cute. Here are some first cut photos from the set up.

Second Hand Rose in Buffalo Minnesota

Second Hand Rose is the iconic occasional sale location in Buffalo Minnesota. Recently Rose sold the shop and has gone on to do other things. The shop, with new owners Ami and Brad, will reopen tomorrow with Rose as one of the associated dealers. I stopped by on Tuesday and took a few photos of the shop.

There is a new checkout desk in a new location, some interestingly painted walls and fabulous new lighting is some of the really dark places. Overall the shop has the same feel and sense that it had under Rose's tutelage, after all most of the dealers remain and are doing their thing as before. It looked great. I even bought something, retail. Oh my!

Ice cold Coca Cola by Minnesota standards.

This is half of an old box springs turned into a wine glass holder. It reminds me of that TV commercial where the woman jumps up and down in bed but doesn't spill the glass of wine. (Ya, that's a real problem for Mr. Flannery, women jumpin' up and down in the bed spilling wine. Bahh).

Quilts, Antlers and an old bike. Very much SHR.

Disemboweled keyboard on the wall.

I really like the upside down duck boat turned into a light fixture over the desk.

And, of course, I like this wooden pulley wheel. Probably a belt drive pulley to take power from the PTO on a tractor.

Maybe the old county road sign is upside down and should be route 99.

Flying antique wall paneling.

There were two of these chairs.

A minnow trap suspended for flying fish?

The Norwegian royal family from 1905.

The shop opens tomorrow for its four day run.
