This is a big (12 inch) blue banded Red Wing mixing bowl.
And this is an even bigger (13 inch) Red Wing bowl.
This bowl with chevron embossing is from Illinois.
And this little bowl with a rounded bottom inside, called a beater jar, is used for making mayonnaise.
They come in many designs, some even with advertising.
There is a lot of variety in the small bowls too.
And the small sponge decorated are very desirable.
Even modern productions come with interesting designs and colors.
And it is fair to say that I have a lot to choose from.

Now THAT is a bowl collection! BTW, I did catch that "20 or so years ago" statement. Good one! :)
I own one dark brown/black crock my grandmother had. I think she got it from her mom. I put fruit in it.
I love mixing bowls, though I like books more and I don't have room for both.
Those are some fantastic examples you have!
Wow you have a bunch!! I am only looking for one and have not had any success :^(
I think you have them allllllll.
Happy New Year,

That is one awesome collection - I really like how you have displayed them. Thanks for the crockery education.
I have some to sell..any interest?
Wow, you sure have a large collection of yellow ware bowls. I think they are so pretty. I have one that was my mom's and 2 that was my mother in laws, plus a very large brown one I got at a yard sale. I recently found a tiny one 3 1/2" across and 2" tall. I haven't seen any that small on the internet. Did they make them that size? It's kind of a dark mustard color with three brown stripes around it.
