English Pub Sign
I bought a wonderful old English pub sign. SUEB did some research for me and determined that it was from a pub in East Anglica and that the sponsoring brewery (Steward & Patteson) had closed in 1963. You never know what I may stumble over here in the middle of the continent.

This Place Looks Great
I spent a large portion of the past week setting up at Gypsy Lea's for the July occasional sale. Kris and Gypsy put in a much greater amount of time. Mike even set up his own man's area featuring refurbished and beautifully cleaned antique tools. I think the place looks great.

A Very Important Day
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.Independence Day is one of the most important days in World history. America truly is the land of the free. American freedom has brought the world unprecedented prosperity, innovation and life. American freedom has saved Europe from itself three times in the past 100 years. Not in conquest, but in sharing the fruits of liberty. Without American Independence in 1776 there would be no free Europe, there would be no free Japan or free Korea. There would be no independent Canada or Mexico. And the millions of immigrants fleeing overcrowded Europe would be under the heal of their old Fascist or Communist dictators. America is free and because America is free the rest of the world has a chance to be free too.
The Founding Fathers were a remarkable collection of men. Franklin, Jefferson, Adams, Henry and most of all Washington would be outstanding men in any society. The fact that they all appeared at the same time on the fringes of the British Empire can only be attributed to Divine Providence. Our life and freedom are the products of their great minds and great deeds.

Today's Project
I have been assembling another table using a portion of a barn door as the top. This one is 21 inches tall which is a high coffee table. Perfect for eating while sitting on the sofa in front of the TV. The base is an old table base that I cut down to fit. I haven't decided what color to paint the base, but I'll probably just seal the top with some poly.
This is another oddity that I bought at auction recently. It is the door from an old truck. I have a pair of these doors but no idea what make or model it is from. I was thinking of using them as the doors on a cupboard or maybe just a piece of garden sculpture.

4th of July in Buffalo
The July market is our 20% off sale and we are open on the 4th of July. I have a bunch of fun stuff stacked in my space, and there are interesting pieces from all the other dealers. Of course, I don't have any photos because while I had my new digital camera with me, the battery was still in its charger at home.
The weather here on the tundra has been fabulous. This week is the reason why some of us stay here through the Arctic blasts and muddy Springs. Today it is sunny with a light breeze from across the lake and about 78*.
