Art Pottery

I love art pottery. I started collecting it many years ago. This is a photo of a corner of the mantle in the family room. The left piece is Roseville, the middle is Owens and the right is Doulton. The maroon tiles facing the mantle are 1880's Trent.

I appreciate your pottery knowledge and experience - so interesting. It IS beautiful, isn't it? You know alot about glass, also, Peter. Country Living, April, 2008, has a vase in their "What is it? What is it worth?" article - the owner writes in, asking about a 1960's piece, and they reply that it's amethyst crystal (c. 1845), valued at $3,000. While I appreciate the pieces that I 'love' - it would be fun to come across a true find. I imagine you've had tons of unexpected finds, Peter - isn't it great?

I have enjoyed "revisiting" your house through this blog over the last couple of days. As lovely as ever. Babe is charming.
